More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
During my time at Right At School in Chicago, I worked as part of a team that provided high-quality before- and after-school care for children of various age groups. My primary responsibilities included planning and leading educational and recreational activities that were both fun and enriching. I ensured that each activity catered to the children’s developmental needs while keeping them engaged and excited.
I also prioritized building positive relationships with the kids, their families, and my colleagues. Communication was key, and I made it a point to keep parents informed about their child’s progress and daily experiences. Additionally, I supported children in building social skills by encouraging teamwork, resolving conflicts constructively, and creating an inclusive environment where everyone felt valued.
My role required adaptability, patience, and creativity, and I loved every moment of contributing to a space where kids could learn, grow, and have fun.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
One of my favorite things to do is organize arts and crafts projects, I like making friendship bracelets or holiday-themed creations, where kids can express themselves and feel proud of their work. I also enjoy storytime, bringing books to life with animated voices and engaging discussions.
Cooking and baking are activities I love sharing with children, especially when they get to decorate their treats and learn basic kitchen skills along the way. Outdoor activities, like scavenger hunts, nature walks, or even a simple game of tag, are always exciting and give kids the chance to explore and stay active.
Music and dance sessions are another favorite—whether we’re singing songs, playing with rhythm instruments, or having mini dance parties, it’s all about bringing joy to their day. I also enjoy guiding them through fun science experiments like making slime or baking soda volcanoes, which ignite their curiosity and love for learning.

The most important part about being a nanny...
As a nanny, I believe the most important part of my role is supporting the mother and ensuring she feels confident and supported in her daily routine. It’s not just about caring for the children—it’s about being a partner & creating a peaceful, organized environment where everyone thrives. Whether it’s helping with household tasks, running errands, or just being there as a reliable and caring presence, I aim to ease the load so the mother can focus on what matters most to her and her family.
Building a strong connection with the children is just as important. I love taking the time to understand each child’s individual needs and interests, whether it’s playing a game, listening to their stories, or simply being a comforting presence when they need it most all of which is incredibly rewarding.
Ultimately, being a nanny is about creating a nurturing environment where both the children and parents feel supported and loved.

My experience with special needs children...
Working with special needs children was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had. I was constantly amazed by their creativity and thoughtful minds. One moment that stands out was when a child created an artwork that was full of color and imagination—truly unique and inspiring. I loved seeing their individual personalities shine through and celebrating their accomplishments, no matter how big or small. It was such a fulfilling experience, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn from them and connect on such a deep level.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when the children I cared for made me a surprise 'thank you' card filled with drawings and sweet notes. They had secretly worked together to create it, and when they handed it to me, their faces lit up with pride. It was such a simple gesture, but it meant the world to me. It showed how much they appreciated the time we spent together, and the connection we had built. It was a reminder that the little moments of love and care truly make the biggest impact.

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Chicago, IL: Lizzy C.
I’m a patient, calm and warm caregiver. As a practicing artist with classroom experience, I appreciate helping kids experience as much simplicity and order as they can when their big and favorite humans aren’t around. My specialty is the baby/toddler stage but I’m currently supporting a family with 5 kids ranging from infant to 15. With Mom soon transitioning away from work to stay home, I’m opening myself up to find a new family to support. I’m currently in a fellowship program for studio art which is mainly online in the evenings out of my art studio, but does require travel a few times a year. If having a creative caregiver is important with slight flexibility in your schedule, I’d love to chat!
