More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
From age of 11 I regularly babysat for multiple families, caring for children ranging from infants to pre-teens. This taught me how to adapt to different ages, manage challenging behaviors, and create fun, safe environments.
While working in a hospital, I was occasionally assigned to the pediatric unit, or Pediatric ICU where I supported children facing medical challenges. This experience taught me how to comfort children, communicate with empathy, and collaborate with families.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
As an herbalist and nature lover, I love engaging children in outdoor activities because it sparks their natural curiosity and connects them to the world around them. I enjoy taking kids on nature walks exploring plants, identify herbs, or collecting things for crafts. For example, we might create leaf rubbings or press flowers to make art. I’m passionate about hands on activities and simple creative projects, because it guides them to express their imagination while building confidence working with their hands.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about caring for children to me is creating trust with the children and families. I believe children do best when they are in a safe loving, and patient environment, and i’d love to contribute to that.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve had experience with 2 families that had a special needs child. One child was severely on the autism spectrum, and the other had some behavioral challenges that would lead to random outbursts of anger. I learned different techniques to de escalate these situations with breathing exercises, and making sure other children were safe.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite recent moment with children was helping them connect with plants during a mother and child camping trip with over 70 kids and 25 mothers. We ventured into the forest, where each child sat with a plant and later shared what they learned and how they felt in that moment. It was a wholesome and special experience to hear each child’s unique perspective.

I love working with kids! I took classes through Pueblo community college studying early childhood education where I went to a local elementary school and worked with the preschool program and hoped to become a teacher. I grew up volunteering as a counselor at a summer camp ranging from ages 5-12. When I started at Fort Lewis, my passion for crime and society was something I wanted to connect with my studies, so I got my degree in Criminology and Justice Studies with minors in prelaw, political science and sociology and human services. I still missed working with kids though! I then became a preschool teacher which was such an amazing , special, and growing experience for me. I was able to intern at the courthouse in the morning and go to such a fun silly encouraging environment in the afternoon! I realized getting a job in the field right out of school is something I don’t want to do. I want to have more open of a schedule and keep the light of kids around in my life!

Hi! I'm Milo, and I am going to Fort Lewis College! For about a year, I have been a co-teacher at my church for the preschoolers . Before that, I used to babysit for neighbors and even tutored some kids in math. I'm a freshman in college, and I can help with homework, tidy up, help the kids play without screens, and prep (simple) meals that are provided.
