I am educated, experienced, mature professional (61); the "active and fun" grandma!!!
I believe a nanny should support the child's/children's parent's child rearing philosophy. This helps with consistency and balance in a child's life.
Safety is always my first priority. I always keep the children in my care engaged and active with art, music, reading, walks and hikes and swimming. Any out door activities weather permitting is always great. These activities helps promote healthy eating and sleeping habits.
When a nanny does their job right...the parents are free to leave the home and go to work and focus on their own job; not having to worry if their child/children is safe and happy.
Leaving the house everyday with the knowledge that your child is going to have a good day even thou you are not there is the greatest "peace of mind" a parent can have while going out into the work world.
Safety, fun, learning and silliness are my tools to keep children in my care healthy and happy.
