I have spent my entire life working with and caring for children of all ages including those with special needs. I was a dual language educator in formal primary school settings, I homeschooled my two sons through fifth grade, I was a reading interventionist helping struggling readers improve and I privately tutored children with learning difficulties. I also provided evening childcare for ten years and most recently was a nanny for two different families.

I have worked most recently as a nanny for two families. Prior to Covid I was a dual language teacher and a reading interventionist in formal grade school settings. I homeschooled my two sons from PreK through fifth grade.
I have taught Spanish to children (ages 4-12) in small groups in my home for eight years.
I also taught Spanish to adults for four years.
I taught Sunday School to children ages 2 through 10 for ten years and assisted in church infant and toddler nurseries for twenty-five years.
In addition to the above, for nine years I provided loving childcare (from newborns to 13-year-olds) in the afternoons and evenings for over twenty different families. I also assisted these families with homework help, laundry, light housekeeping and meal preparation.

I am enthusiastic about creating a loving, nurturing and fun environment for the children in my care. I feel it is my responsibility to be a positive, encouraging extension of the values that the parents want to impart to their children.
I want the parents to be so comfortable with me as their nanny that they can focus on their work without having to worry about what is happening at home.

I have worked with and cared for children with Down Syndrome, autism, dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia, cognitive processing disorders, sensory processing disorders, oppositional defiance disorder, ADD, and ADHD.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moments are the ones that create a bond - reading a book together, creating a special craft, making up silly songs or even talking through a tough time.
