For the Summer of 2019, I Provided 1:1 support to a student during summer camp. I was Responsible for supervising and assisting a child with special needs to access summer camp activities. This included keeping a schedule, following rules and guidelines, helping the student to work through frustrations and communication skills at an age-appropriate level. Another experience I have relevant to child care is being an academic mentor at Jamaica Plains Elementary school. I Assisted students with homework, problem-solving, social skills. I also Provide social-emotional learning skills.

I have been involved with Special Olympics for the past 10 years. I am a 1:1 peer coach and love it. I started doing it at a young age and have a lot of experience with it. I have also been a 1:1 aid for a child who is autistic at a summer camp.
