A little bit about me

UCF graduate, passionate about working with children. I consider myself an advocate for children's mental health, because childhood lays the foundation for our adulthood mental health. The care a child receives is highly influential to their mental health. I have never worked as a nanny, but I have three years of professional childcare experience in schools and non-profits. I would love the opportunity to meet with your family.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

For 6 months, prior to COVID-19, I volunteered for Nemours Children's Hospital with the Child Life Department to reduce fear and anxiety in the hospital setting, and with Camp Boggy Creek, where I work with kids with life-threatening illnesses/conditions in a camp setting. I also have volunteered for two years at a non-profit that serves children who are experiencing grief following the death of a loved one. I worked for Orange County Public Schools, and a local private elementary school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love creative activities with children, which often provoke mindfulness and calming feelings.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important of being a nanny is making sure that children are physically and emotionally/psychologically safe. Ensuring that their voices are heard and taken seriously while providing guidance and supervision is the most important aspect of childcare in my view.

Melanie W. - Seeking Work in Orlando

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Orlando, FL: Melanie W.

Hi! My name is Melanie, and I have about a year of experience working with children. I really enjoy being around kids and love being someone they can feel comfortable and safe with. I'm patient, caring, and always try to make sure they're having fun while learning and staying active.

I'm comfortable caring for kids of different ages, from babies to teenagers. I enjoy playing games, doing crafts, going outside, helping with homework, and finding fun activities to keep them entertained. I'm also happy to help with meals, light cleanup, and anything else that makes your day a little easier.

I understand that every family is different, so I'm happy to follow your routines, rules, and parenting style. I'm responsible, dependable, and have my own car, so transportation isn't an issue. I also love animals, so pets are definitely not a problem!

I'd love the opportunity to get to know your family and become someone you feel comfortable trusting with your kids.
