Baking!! I'm not a baker myself, so I find it a great way to figure out things together - and it allows kids to take initiative (with supervision of course) with an activity with the lovely treat of treats!
I'm also on the younger side, so I have plenty of energy that can be burned through racing, playing live action make believe, etc.

Definitely listening and being there for them. Always recognizing the signs, and paying attention. Making sure that they feel as though they can trust you and be comfortable around you in their home.
