Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I think they’re are all sorts of activities you can do, indoor and outdoor but as I like arts and crafts I stray more towards that side for indoor activities. I also love seeing kids imagination come into play so letting them create is something I enjoy. As for outside activities I think it’s great for kids to use their energy and I don’t mind keeping up with them and their antics.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters most to me is making sure the child feels safe, cared for, and happy. I want the child to feel supported and understood, while also helping them learn and develop in a fun, structured way.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a 40-year-old uncle who is an adult child with disabilities and on the autism spectrum and I grew up alongside him and learned to care for him, throughout my years. However more recently I have a younger toddler cousin who was diagnosed with autism 3 as a baby. Although I don’t think these diagnosis should label a child or change anything about them as every child has their own needs and goes at their own pace.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I love listening to children and hearing their side of things and how their little brains work! So a lot of times I hold conversations with them. That’s usually where I get my favorite moments and building a connection between them and I to where they feel comfortable and safe with me.
