More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a babysitter for 2 boys (brothers-from ages 2 until 5). They would spend everyday, except the weekends at my house and I was responsible for the entertainment and safety of the boys. I was also responsible for making sure they had a set schedule in which nap time and breakfast and lunch was included.
Most recently, I was a nanny for 3 kids (4yr, 3yr, 1yr). I worked 9 to 5 every week day at the families house and prepared meals for the kids, provided entertainment and activities, cleaned up the house, and drove the kids to fun places (park, playground, museum, etc...)

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is not only the physical safety and health of the child, but also the mental/psychological. I find it very important to make sure that no child is feeling lonely, forgotten, or sad in anyway. I feel it is very important that children know and are reminded that they are loved and cared for and safe and should never feel left out.
My experience with special needs children...
The most recent family that I worked for (just this last month) had a son and daughter (4 yr, 3 yr) who were non verbal and had delayed speech. It was very difficult trying to teach them and understand their needs, but with a lot of patience, I would figure what they wanted in the end. The 4 yr boy had pervasive development disorder and often had trouble going to new places and being around new people.

Watching the kids grow and develop their own personalities and sense of who they want to be. I loved seeing what made them happy and what made them laugh and why.
