A little bit about me

My name is Maya and I am currently in my gap year before attending graduate school where I will obtain my doctorate in physical therapy. I have been working with children since 14 and love it! I own my own car and am a nonsmoker.

Childcare:
For the past two summers I have worked as a summer camp counselor. In this experience I would be in charge of lesson planning for up to 15 children. We would go on field trips twice a week to the pool, park, zoo and many other places! For the rest of the days of the week, I would plan activities and lessons to do with the children.

Babysitting:
I have babysat for many families. I recently resigned as I graduated and moved home to Cleveland. I have babysat children aged 9 months- 9 years old.

Tutoring:
I am currently a lead tutor through one of my volunteer programs at UC. In this elected position I tutor children one-on-one aged 5-10. This is my fourth year holding this position. Please feel free to message me with any other questions.

My favorite things to do with children include crafts and doing anything active! I am willing to learn how to do other activities that the children enjoy

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked with several special needs children when working at a daycare and summer camp. Most of my experience is with children with ADHD, autism, ADD, and social and emotional disorders.
I also am a former social coach for the Transition and Access Program at UC. In this position I help students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities further develop their social skills. This including setting up and planning an activity once a week for students to join.
