More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I earned my Early Childhood Credential (ECC) and have continued to expand my knowledge through extensive professional development and training throughout my career. I am currently pursuing my master's degree, and my coursework will not interfere with my work responsibilities. I am truly passionate about working with children and find great joy in watching them learn, grow, and reach their full potential. Helping children develop academically, socially, and emotionally has always been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy planning activities that are both fun and educational, including arts and crafts, cooking projects, nature walks, dramatic play, music, and dance. I believe children learn best through hands-on experiences that encourage creativity, exploration, and problem-solving. I also make it a priority to ask the children what they enjoy doing because I believe their interests should help guide the activities we plan. Giving children a voice in their learning keeps them engaged, builds their confidence, and creates a positive environment where they feel valued, excited to participate, and eager to learn.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is building a trusting relationship with both the children and their family. With more than 30 years of experience working with children, including 20 years as a Child Care Director and my current role supporting students with autism, I understand that every child is unique and develops at their own pace. I believe in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children feel loved, supported, and encouraged to learn through play and everyday experiences. I also believe that open communication with parents is essential so we can work together to provide consistency, meet each child's individual needs, and celebrate their growth and accomplishments.

My experience with special needs children...

Throughout my career, I have worked with children who have a wide range of abilities and diverse learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), learning disabilities, developmental disabilities, cerebral palsy, anxiety, depression, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), hearing loss, and vision loss.
As a Child Care Director and in my current role supporting students with autism, I have collaborated with teachers, therapists, and families to help each child succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe every child deserves a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where they feel valued and have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Building strong relationships with children and their families has always been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
