I worked as a paraprofessionals for over a year at an elementary school. I worked at a daycare for almost a year taking care of 6 weeks to 5 month olds, amongst other ages.
I am also a Sunday School teacher at my church and my age group is 5-7 years, but I previously taught the nursery age students for two years. I also have a lot of siblings and a 13 y/o brother I have helped take care of.

The most important part about being a nanny...
One day, while babysitting siblings, I decided to organize a "pretend restaurant" for lunch. The kids eagerly transformed the living room into a fine dining establishment, complete with menus made from construction paper and a makeshift chef's hat for me. The youngest, who was just learning to read, proudly took on the role of the waiter.
After taking everyone's "order," the waiter confidently marched into the kitchen, where I was preparing simple sandwiches. He returned to the table, holding up an imaginary tray and announced, "One peanut butter jellyfish sandwich, coming right up!" The older siblings burst into laughter, and soon everyone was rolling with giggles at the idea of a jellyfish sandwich.
It was a lighthearted moment that captured the joy and creativity of spending time with children. We spent the rest of the afternoon adding silly twists to everyday things, and that day’s "menu" became a favorite memory we revisited often.
