More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I am a dedicated early childhood educator with over six years of hands-on experience—all at the same early learning center—where I’ve built strong, lasting connections with children, families, and my teaching team. I hold an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Cincinnati and am also a proud recipient of the Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential in Infant-Toddler care. My educational background, combined with years of experience, has equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support children during their most critical stages of development. I have a strong passion for inclusive education and specialize in working with children with special needs, always striving to create nurturing, responsive, and developmentally appropriate environments for every child in my care.

Activities I Love Doing with Children
I truly enjoy hands-on, play-based learning experiences that spark curiosity and build confidence. Some of my favorite activities to do with children include sensory play (like water tables, finger painting, and playdough), story time with expressive reading and puppets, music and movement sessions to encourage gross motor skills, and outdoor exploration—whether it's nature walks, gardening, or just running around on the playground. I also love incorporating simple science experiments and dramatic play to foster creativity and critical thinking. Above all, I value activities that give children a voice, allow them to explore at their own pace, and make learning feel joyful and meaningful.

My experience with special needs children...
Experience Working with Children with Special Needs
Throughout my six years in early childhood education, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with children with a range of developmental, physical, and sensory needs. My experience has taught me the importance of patience, flexibility, and truly individualized care. Whether supporting communication through visual aids, adapting sensory activities to meet individual thresholds, or collaborating with therapists and families, I strive to create inclusive environments where every child feels seen, valued, and capable. I believe in meeting children where they are, celebrating every small milestone, and advocating for the supports they need to thrive—emotionally, socially, and developmentally. Supporting children with special needs isn’t just part of my job; it’s something I’m deeply passionate about and committed to continuing to grow in.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Columbus, OH: Victoria A.
My name is Victoria Ascencio, and I have been working with children since I was 10 years old. I've always had a passion and love for kids! I've served as a CIT at a parks and recreation facility, worked as a Pre-school teacher at Happy Little Hearts, and have past experience as a teacher at Kiwis Clubhouse.
I absolutely love working with kids and making them smile no matter the circumstance. I'm comfortable with all aspects of childcare-from crafts, field trips, and meal prep to laundry and handling pets of all kinds. I'm also confident teaching. I've taken 3 years of Spanish and have some knowledge of American Sign Language (not fluent, but familiar).
Currently, I'm seeking a part-time evening babysitting or nanny position that allows me to focus more personally on the children I care for, while also sustaining my full time job.
