Teaching Experience:
-This past spring I taught art in an after school program at Lowell Elementary School. My colleagues and I created the curriculum and wrote lesson plans for a class of students (kindergarten through third grade). Each lesson had a focus on process driven (over product driven) artistic exploration in a wide array of art mediums.
-Throughout high school, I volunteered with SMP (Seattle Music Partners) as a music instructor and mentor for 4th and 5th graders. SMP provides private music lessons and mentoring for students who attend the elementary schools in Seattle with the highest rates of free and reduced lunch. After working with students each week, volunteers partake in a debrief session and receive professional development with a focus on social justice.
