I have a B.S. in psychology as well as an M.A. in psychology, specializing in corrections. I have been a caregiver for over fifteen years with experience regarding a variety of ages, as well as the amount of children and pets. I have cared for children in a variety of cities such as Chicago, Rochester, Miami, and a few countries in Europe when I lived overseas. I think the most important traits that make me a successful caregiver include patience and flexibility. My background in psychology has immensely attributed to my qualities. I understand that some things may rarely go as planned and I am quick to adjust to unexpected circumstances. I enjoy helping others which does not only include childcare but errands and other household services as well. I am a hard worker but enjoy having fun as well. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a volunteer at a program called OpenBooks. This program pairs an elementary student with an adult volunteer to help aid in advancing the literacy of students. I was a volunteer for a three year period.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Some indoor activities I enjoy doing are arts and crafts, coloring, reading, puzzles, creating games, helping with homework, and watching movies. When the weather permits, I enjoy going to the playground, walks, playing outdoor games, swimming, bike riding, going to the zoo, and attending outdoor events.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is giving all of your energy and attention to the children one is responsible for. During my time with a child, I am solely focused on providing whatever necessary to maintain the wellbeing of the child. With that being said, being responsible, patient, and communicative are other very important qualities that help a nanny excel.

My experience with special needs children...

I have babysat a few children that were diagnosed with autism.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was when I attended a children's gym with the eighteen month old boy I was caretaking for at the time. He was very shy at first but with my help, he was soon participating in activities with the other children and finally became familiar with sharing. Even though it was an exhausting gym session for me, it was very special to see Sebastian opening up to others which is something he was previously never a fan of.
