My name is MeKayla and I live on the west side of Sioux Falls. I am originally from Montana and have lived here for two years. I moved out here to work as a Registered Nurse at Sanford Medical Center. I love being outdoors, taking care of animals, baking, reading, learning, planning, and making crafts. I am looking for a stable babysitting job on my days off. I plan to become a preschool teacher one day and have to keep my skills in check:) Growing up I have worked in daycares, babysat, cleaned houses, worked in camps, groups homes, etc. I have lots of experience working with people and families. In the past I was a Teacher’s Assistant, interned at my elementary school, volunteered at preschools, worked in group homes, babysat for multiple families, taught children’s church, worked with kids with disabilities, and was a camp counselor for many years. I have been a registered nurse for 2 years and was a CNA for 5 years.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy doing crafts, playing outside, watching movies, reading books, and teaching. I would say I am more old school and believe that being outside and connecting with people will help children grow in so many ways. I also love to bake and provide healthy meals.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is making sure that the families feel safe and comfortable taking me into their homes. I also think it’s important to plan accordingly to each family as everyone is so different from each other.
