Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I studied Elementary Education & taught for four years. Two of those were in Colorado and two were here in the Lolo & Missoula area. While I was going to school I was a lead site director at a before & after school daycare program. I left teaching because of a great opportunity which is now the job I currently have.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love reading, coloring, building. If your family has a favorite park or trail your like to go on I love to do that with the kids. I like to do activities that are already something they’ve done before to make them feel comfortable. It’s hard for kids to want to try something new while also meeting a new person.

I think developing a relationship with the child where they feel like they have another fun, safe adult in their life.
My experience with special needs children...
While I was teaching there were a few students over the years that were in my class that had different special needs. I’ve worked with children who have had Down syndrome and Autism.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think my favorite moment with any of my kids has been when I see them next and right away they say “Melanie remember when we did this last time, can we do it again?” It just makes me happy that they enjoyed our time together that they kept thinking about it and looked forward to the next time we would be together. It also makes me feel good that they are excited to have me watch them again.
