Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked at a preschool in Portland for 25 years. I started as a teacher, moved into a sub-director within a year. By year 5 I was a head teacher and an assistant director. I also went to school but remained and left the preschool I started with twice but always came back. I have changed into many roles while being there I have been a head teacher in almost every age group but infants, though I have been the supporting teacher. I also was the director for 3 years but I ended up being the Head Teacher who oversaw all the other teachers, children, their classrooms, and curriculum, while being the assistant director.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love learning through play and working on social/ emotional development. I enjoy dramatic play, art, sensory play, the outdoors, getting messy, my favorite part is talking about feelings, and how to regulate our bodies. Working on giving them tools for their tool belt for when they are having big emotions. Working on being mindful, self help skills, and every day responsibilities. I could go on forever about what I enjoy with children I love watching them grow and learn, when they reach a goal on their own is priceless. Cooking projects are so much fun with children and its teaches them a life skill at the same time.
