The most important part about being a nanny...

At a party, a little girl recognized me from a preschool program I volunteered. She came to hug me. She looked at me in the eyes and said very softly “it has been such a long time”
She was 3 when I was her teacher and now she was 6. But somehow, she remembered me well.
A little 6 yr old girl told her sister when we were doing crafts: “She would do anything for us” (referring to me)... her sister replied “yes, she would”. I didn’t know what that was about, but I knew they trusted I had their backs because they were right. I really would do anything to protect a child.
Finally, a 3 year old boy was misbehaving and repeatedly disrupting the evening class.
I said to him that (as a form of discipline) if he continued to disrupt he would have to sit next to me. When I asked him if he would like to sit next to me, he looked at me and smiled, he eagerly replied “yes!!!!!”.
So I had to ask him to behave well, so he would have the chance to sit next yo me lol.
