A little bit about me

I'm a 25 year old bubbly individual who loves staying active, and all things creative! I recently graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Sociology and Social Work. My coursework gave me the opportunity to understand how children develop and thrive in their environments. Although coursework and hands on experience are two vastly different things, my role as the oldest of 5 has given me a plethora of childcare experience. My role as a big sister soon transitioned into my being the second mom of our household.
In high school I worked at a day care where using a play based model children were supported to build their independence. Additionally I worked at two different summer camps. My most recent experience with children comes from my work as a behavioral therapist. During this time I would assist children diagnosed with autism in developmental areas they may be lacking. I have worked as a behavior therapist for children diagnosed with autism. Using a play based model, I would assist them to build their developmental skills. This could be anything from communication delays, to academic progress, and even something as simple as independently washing their hands.
