I have been caring for children for over 25yrs. I have 2 grown children of my own. Who are amazing. I have been a live in nanny, live out, worked in day cares, worked from my own home, all ages, for many years.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love taking the children outside for some fresh air and depending on their age, we will do a fun activity like a walk, bubbles, a picnic, an arts n crafts, music, stories, chalk, games etc… a lot can be applied to indoor activities also, including working on their fine motor skills, building blocks, play dough, coloring, an educational show if parents allow.
The most important part about being a nanny...
What matters most to me about being a nanny is the over all well being of the child/children. Making sure all their needs are met, that they are always safe, and I take care of them the way I would want someone to take care of my children. I respect the parents and their wishes.
My experience with special needs children...
I don’t have experience with special needs children, however I’m not opposed to learning how to properly care for a child with special needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I have taken care of a lil girl since she was 3mons old, she is 12 now, and I have a ton of adorable memories from her, and she still comes over to swim n do sleep overs. But one that stands out, is her trying to take her 1st steps and she looked like she was surfing. It was in my living room, and I can still picture her doing that move over and over again until she started walking.
