More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
My journey with childcare began at the age of 13 when I started volunteering at a local nursery school. Throughout high school, I was actively involved with the St John’s Ambulance, dedicating my weekends to volunteering. At 17, I started babysitting for my first family, caring for a girl from ages 10 to 14. From 21 to 23, I expanded my horizons as an au pair nurturing two girls in Stamford from ages 9 & 11 until they were 11 & 13. My weekends were filled with babysitting neighbourhood children, from babies to young kids, including a special needs child diagnosed with ADHD at age 6. Upon moving to the West Coast, I have worked with multiple families, creating strong bonds, especially with babies and young children, some with special needs. Currently, I cherish my time working a few hours a week with a sweet baby boy who was 9 months old when I began caring for him. This rich tapestry of experiences has honed my skills and deepened my passion for nurturing children

The most important part about being a nanny...
Having a great connection with the kids. Children learn and respond well when they feel that they trust and understand you.
My experience with special needs children...
For the past three years, I have had the privilege of working with autistic children. Each child I work with has unique needs and is at a different point on the spectrum, so I am constantly learning new ways to engage and support them. This experience has taught me the importance of being patient, compassionate, kind, and understanding. I’ve found that maintaining a routine is essential for building trust, and from there, meaningful connections can flourish.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I loved goofing off with my host kids during covid. We got so bored in the house we found new ways to entertain ourselves each day. I love looking back on those memories today
