While studying in New York City, I volunteered at the Mexican American Student’s Alliance. At MASA I tutored students in second-grade English and math and establish a secondary support system for children going through the immigration process. While tutoring I learned that each student required a new way of listening. And through listening we cna begin to find more authentic ways of connecting and caring for each kids needs.
