I use sensory activities, like exploring textures with squishy bags, and we also do coloring, painting, dancing, and singing. I also introduce light sports including yoga and nature-based activities, like exploring outdoors, collecting leaves, and connecting with nature to spark their curiosity and creativity.

One of my favorite nanny moments was when a child I cared for started repeating words I taught them. For example, I helped them learn to say ‘water’ in Spanish—‘agua’—and every mealtime, they would say it back. It just warmed my heart to see them grow and connect to a new language that wasn’t part of their everyday world.
