But overall, making sure you are providing a nurturing and open environment, so the children feel safe being around you. Building a sense of trust with any child you are working with, is something that I hold very close to my heart.

Dealing with children with special needs can be challenging. But I believe it's all about how you handle the situation. If a child is screaming at you, I've learned to stay calm and remember that these children have a harder time communicating.
