A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Mimi Arnold, and I am a current Sophomore at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. I am studying business, majoring in marketing, and minoring in international business. I have spent my last two summers working at an early childhood learning center working with infants up to kindergarten-aged children and have fallen in love with spending my time with kids. This upcoming summer, I am moving back down to the cities to nanny three kids part-time and continue with my work at the learning center. I completed my CPR certification in August of 2021 and have a reliable four-wheel-drive vehicle and a clean driving record. I would love to be kept in mind for date nights as I will be in the Duluth area till mid-may. I will also be looking for part-time nanny families in the fall when I move back to Duluth to begin my junior year at UMD. I have fallen in love with Duluth in the past two years and can't wait to get to know the amazing families that live here as well.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a full-time assistant teacher at an early childhood learning center during the 2021 and 2020 Summer. I have loved spending my days with children, from infants to kindergarten-aged kids, in the past two summers. I will continue my work with those amazing kids this upcoming summer.

In the summer of 2020, I plan on nannying part-time for a family with three children.

Besides my nanny and daycare experience, I have babysat for families for over eight years. Ages range from infant to 12 and up to 5 children at a time.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Growing up, I loved to use my imagination, which makes me so happy to see kids without technology playing and using their imagination to create their dreams. Other than creative play and arts and crafts, I have spent hours teaching Pre-K-aged children their letters, numbers, writing, tracing, cutting, etc. to prepare for their exciting journey to school!

The most important part about being a nanny is making a unique connection with each of the children, so they know that they are loved, valued, and respected.

My experience with special needs children...

I have always had a passion for children starting at a young age. In middle-school I volunteered my lunch period to work in the special education classroom to assist the teachers and so I could spend time doing something I am passionate about

The most important part about being a nanny...

This past summer I got the oppurinity to spend most of my days in the older todler aged room. My favorite moment of every day was walking in my classroom and seeing my favorite group of 16 faces light up and yelling "Ms.Mimi!" like they haven't seen me in ages when in reality it had just been a few hours. Moments like those are what I miss the most when I am at college and that is why I am seeking those special moments in the upcoming school year.
