More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I work in the local schools quite a bit, mostly in the elementary and middle schools. I also work as a Reading Therapist, where I do one-on-one literacy intervention for kids with learning disabilities.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love going outside to hike, bike, swim, forage, and so many other things! I also love to cook, bake, and make art. Anything that involves play is right up my alley!
My experience with special needs children...
I currently work as a Reading Therapist teaching kids with varying disabilities how to read. I also substitute teach at the local elementary schools, often in the Special Ed programs. I worked as a lead teacher at a summer program for children with autism, and my undergrad degree is in Recreation Therapy, with a focus on people with disabilities. I have also nannied a child with sensory processing disorder and ADHD. I used to volunteer with an adapted aquatics program for kids with varying disabilities and worked one-on-one with a child with autism and a child with down syndrome.
