A few activities I highly enjoy doing with children are arts and crafts, playing games, or using our imaginations to act out an epic story. I also love to be outside! I enjoy being active with children such as playing sports, swimming, going on walks, or creating scavenger hunts.

The most important part about being a nanny is having a positive impact on the children. I find it so important to create a healthy, fun, and safe environment for the children. I believe that having a caretaker a child can trust and enjoy being around makes all the difference for the times when parents are away. Making sure the child has a positive experience is one of my biggest goals in being a nanny.
My experience with special needs children...
I have not personally experienced caring for a child with special needs. At my childcare job in my hometown, me and my co-workers would regularly watch a child who experienced seizures. I was taught how to time the seizures and create a safe environment if one ever occurred, but that scenario never happened while the child was in our care. I feel confident in my ability to learn and listen to detailed instructions regarding any child with special needs, safety and care are of top priority.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My absolute favorite nanny moment occurred with a child that I watched on a weekly basis. I began babysitting the child when he was about 1 1/2 years old. Every time I would change his diaper he would pee straight up into the air and giggle! I was always patient, seeing as though it was probably just the temperature change from the changing. As he grew up and began to walk, anytime he would see me he would run to me arms wide ready for a hug. Moments like those are why I love caring for children, I would take getting peed on any day to see the big smile on his face when he saw me.
