The most important part about being a nanny is being patient and attentive while building a strong, genuine connection with each child. It’s about creating a safe, supportive environment where they feel comfortable, understood, and encouraged. I believe in helping children learn and grow at their own pace, while providing consistent support, guidance, and encouragement every step of the way.

My experience with special needs children...

I have worked at a high school for the past three years, supporting students ages 14 to 22 with a wide range of intellectual and physical disabilities. This includes students on the autism spectrum, as well as individuals with Angelman syndrome, cerebral palsy, and other health issues such as seizure disorders, diabetes, and more.

In my role, I assist students who need extra time and support with learning, communication, and processing information. I also work closely with students who require physical assistance with mobility, including walking, transferring, and wheelchair use. Additionally, I help monitor students with various health issues and stay alert to any rapid changes in their condition to ensure their safety and well-being.

Through this experience, I have developed strong patience, attentiveness, and adaptability. I am comfortable working with students who require a higher level of support, both academically and physically.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was seeing a child I care for accomplish something they had been struggling with. Whether it was communicating a need, learning a new skill, or gaining confidence, being part of that progress was incredibly rewarding and reminded me why I love working with children.
