My name is Mónica, and I’m from Colombia. I’ve been living in the United States for three years and have trained as a teacher and teacher assistant. I worked as a Teacher Assistant at Nueva Generación Montessori Pre-School for a year and a half, caring for infants and children up to four years old. Currently, I work as a Teacher with children aged three to four years.

My qualifications include completing the 45-hour DCF training, a micro-credential in language and development for infants and toddlers from the University of Florida, and a course on growth and development in preschool-aged children from the same university. I hold a valid CPR and First Aid certification until 2025 and have completed multiple DCF courses, including topics such as safe sleep practices, nutrition, and general childcare. My combined experience and training enable me to create engaging, developmentally appropriate environments that foster learning and holistic development for young children.

I enjoy teaching children and engaging with them through play. I love teaching them about everyday life skills, motivating them to stay active with exercises appropriate for their age, and introducing them to healthy eating habits. My favorite moments with children are when, after playing, teaching, or having fun together, they come up to me and give me a hug. Those moments are incredibly rewarding because they show me that they enjoyed our time together, feel happy with me, and trust and feel comfortable in my care.
