The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is recognizing just how vital of a role you can play in the children’s lives. Not only am I responsible for their physical safety, but as one of the adults with whom they spend a large amount of time, I can truly be an influence for good in their lives. I get to be another person who they know loves them no matter what and will support them through the struggles they face.
Being a nanny is not a position that I take lightly. I constantly seek ways to help children learn new things, hit developmental milestones, and navigate the tough situations life can throw our way. I recognize I’m not just watching a baby or toddler, I’m influencing who that child might become as they grow into an adult. My goal is to make as positive of an impact that I possibly can in their lives.

My experience with special needs children...
I provided care to a child on the autism spectrum (age 5-6).
The most important part about being a nanny...
I’m having a hard time picking a favorite because there are so many wonderful parts of being a nanny. There was a little boy I cared for from the ages of 15 months to 28 months. Witnessing his growth in every aspect, and playing a role in his learning, has been extremely rewarding. The first time he said my name, my heart absolutely melted into a puddle. Every time he learns something new, the pride and wonder I feel never goes away! That’s got to be my favorite part of being a nanny. There is such a sweet bond that can form between a nanny and her “nanny kids” that really makes this my dream job.

I’m an active and fun loving big kid, who never wanted to grow up. I have worked with kids for most of my life, in a volunteer setting. In high school it was volunteering for the youth center in my town. In college it was teaching kids across the world music in workshops with The Young Americans. Today, it’s volunteering at Calvary community church. I absolutely love the light and nuance children bring to this world. The wonder so many of them have for experiencing new things lights my heart up. I look forward to meeting you and working with your kids!
