More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have 6 years of experience working with children through swim instruction, nannying, and babysitting. I’ve worked with children ranging from infants and toddlers to school-aged kids, including caring for a 2-year-old and 7-year-old for a year and regularly babysitting a child from ages 4-7. As a swim instructor, I’ve worked with children of all ages and skill levels, which has given me extensive experience with safety, patience, communication, and keeping children engaged. I’m also comfortable helping with homework, preparing meals and snacks, creating activities, maintaining routines, and handling school/daycare pickup and transportation. I’m CPR, First Aid, AED, and lifeguard certified.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love keeping kids busy and finding things that actually match their personality and interests. I enjoy going to the park, swimming, taking walks, playing outside, doing arts and crafts, reading, playing games, and finding little ways to make everyday activities fun. I also like coming up with activities on the spot, like turning a regular afternoon into a scavenger hunt or letting them help me make cookies or a simple meal. I’m definitely not afraid to get outside and be silly with the kids, but I also enjoy quieter activities like coloring, puzzles, or reading when they need some downtime.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny to me is making sure a child feels safe, comfortable, and genuinely cared for. I want kids to know they can be themselves around me and feel like they have someone who will listen to them, be patient with them, and make them feel supported. I also think it’s important to build a real relationship with each child, because every kid is different and what works for one may not work for another. Of course I take the responsibility of caring for someone’s child seriously, but I also want them to have fun, feel comfortable, and look forward to the time we spend together.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite memories was when the 4-year-old I nannied decided she was going to give me a full makeover. She did my makeup, picked how she wanted me to pose, and then took pictures of me like she was a professional photographer 😂. We ended up spending so much time laughing and taking pictures together. It was one of those random little moments that wasn’t planned at all but became such a fun memory.
