Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I worked for Mary cariola and also liberty resources preschools. And have also been in charge of the children’s services at my mother’s church since the age of 18. So I’ve worked with kids for a long time and never knew it was my calling until I secures a job at a preschool back in 2019. And since then I have loved every minute of educating kids with special needs as well as kids who are typical kiddos❤️
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Singing, science experiments, reading, sensory play and a lot of nature learning.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Showing kids support as well as guidance. (But of course never undermine the REAL authority of the home which is the parents). Being the support not only to the children but to the parents as well who sometimes have very busy schedules hence why you(the nanny) have been hired. To help a busy home to functions wit as little chaos as possible. But above all with love, kindness and respect.
My experience with special needs children...
I’ve worked at liberty resources preschools since 2019 and I had started off as a 1:1 aide for kids with severe autism or even just mobility issues and since then I LOVED working with special needs kids. I am very in tune with teaching communication as well as helping kids be as independent as they can be so they don’t have to succumb to needing assistance by people in the future (other than their caretakers). I feel when a special needs kiddo is taught to be independent in SOME things like feeding or even potty training, it gives them a sense of individuality and helps them have a voice to let people know “I CAN DO IT!” ❤️ because some kids I’ve seen enjoy being coddled but some WANT to be treated fair like normal kids who can do for themselves ❤️ and I like having kids know I understand that about them as well as showing them love and support for them to know “THEY’VE GOT THIS!”
