More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Starting at age 10, I got conned into taking care of my sister's kids, from the time I got home from school, until I went to school the next morning. School was my only break from watching my 2 nieces and 1 nephew, it stayed like that until I turned 18 and went to college, so I raised them from age 0-8, 0-5, and 0-3. Then of course, I raised my 2 daughters who are totally independent and happily married, etc. and in 2004 I started dating a girl who recently divorced and had custody of her 3 kids, ages 2, 4, and 6 and she was struggling with her new business and one day she called me because her babysitter never showed up and she had to go to work...... it was a one-time emergency situation but somehow it became full time and so I took care of them for about 5 years. More recently, I was helping my neighbor upgrade his barn, and somehow I ended up watching his 2 adopted kids (age 7) every day as I worked, and those 2 became my helpers on that jobsite. . . . . so that's a few episodes
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Teaching them to read, write, and do math. Always teaching them everything. I also enjoy taking them to the park, swimming, riding bikes, etc. or whatever they enjoy doing (as long as it falls within mom & dad's rules), but since you're asking, what I enjoy the most is going head to head playing mortal kombat! Even really young kids get good at it very quick, and nothing is better than seeing their skill level reach a point where suddenly they can beat me!
The most important part about being a nanny...
So the parents can focus on their work without having to worry, and everyone is safe.
My experience with special needs children...
It's very limited but a few on life support. Not my area of expertise, but I'm flexible.
