I feel like the most important part about being a nanny is connecting and building a healthy strong relationship with the kids and family. Making sure that the parents can trust me with their kids is a top priority as I am there to assist them and to care for the kiddos.
My experience with special needs children...
I nannied for a family who had a child with autism. He was 12 years old at the time. I would be at his home when he arrived from school and I would help to maintain his schedule with appointments, homework and any tasks he needed to get done at home. I also assisted lightly with self care.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The family and I had dinner together at their house. The grandmother was over and all the kids were saying how much fun we had that afternoon playing tag and other games outside.
