I cared for my autistic nephew from a couple months old until he was about 5 and would watch my neighbors autistic son, occasionally, when she needed extra help. It was definitely a learning experience and it helped me understand the needs of others as well as teach me different ways to interact with children and adults that need a little extra patience and care.

My most memorable moment was when a small group of kids at the foster home i’d help at, surprised me with handmade cards and balloons for my birthday.
