Being patient. Kids have a lot of questions and you have to be able to understand and have real conversations with children.

My cousin has autism and I have learned to be very specific in asking what she wants because she doesn't speak too much. She is often playing stimulating games and when she eats, I give her fries and tenders, or I'll whip up some homemade mac n' cheese.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I watch my two cousins (ages 8 and 4) very often. My favorite moment with them would be when I have done their makeup, or I would show them my hamster. We would also watch Disney movies together, specifically Moana.
