The most important part about being a nanny...
Remembering that you’re the adult I think it’s very easy for people to snap their children when they find them annoying or they’re getting frustrated but I find it incredibly hard to actually be annoyed at a child if I keep in mind that they are a child Children will be difficult and it’s not on purpose but they’re looking for a reaction most of the time and if you stay calm, it is a lot easier to figure out what the actual issue is
My experience with special needs children...
My older sister has autism outside of that. I have also worked with children with autism on almost every side of the spectrum. I have also worked with adults with autism. I’ve also worked with children with ADHD I haven’t specifically worked with children or adults with down syndrome, however I do know children and adults with down syndrome, who’s families, I’m friends with, and have unpaid experience working with. I have experience working with children with severe physical disabilities as well if you are interested, please feel free to ask me about it.

I was working with a child with autism who at the time was really struggling with his little brother wanting to play with us and he was getting really upset but then told me he needed to de-escalate and he went into his quiet corner and asked me if I knew how to calm down I told him we could take some deep breaths together we did and he said he felt better afterwards I could not be more proud he was 7 years old I could not stop breathing to the parents how impressed I was with him
