More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Currently nannying for a family M-F full time.
Besides being a self employed Nanny for over 10 years I also taught preschool and kindergarten. I have a lot of experience volunteering with children as well at local schools. I have my CPR first aid certification and certifications for early childhood education/child care.
I am also a Mother to one daughter who is four.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy sports of all kinds from skateboarding and biking to soccer. I also love art. As a studio arts student I enjoy incorporating art into my every day activities with children. Teaching them life skills that are also a work of art like sewing and crocheting. Some of my favorite projects have involved hand prints and foot prints of the children turned into art. I also enjoy cooking and baking with children as well as reading.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a Nanny to me would be building a real friendship with the children. You are basically their best friend/mentor. You are a part of the trust circle. Not only with the children but also with the parents. You are a part important part of their family that helps keep the chain strong. My influence can make a real difference in peoples lives. It has been a honor of mine to be a part of other families lives making a positive wholesome impact.

My experience with special needs children...

I have specifically 3 years experience with special needs children ranging on different sides of the spectrum. My experience all comes from my previous Nanny/Babysitting jobs and from my own friends children. I do not have a educational background with special needs and so would not consider myself an expert. however based on my experience I do have a lot of empathy and understanding as well as some knowledge on how certain children should be cared for.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite Nanny moment would be of taking the kids to the splash pads in the summer time and going on nature walks. The splash pads were the perfect place to take the children without the worry of water safety and most of the parks also had nature trails where we could go look for treasures! I also helped build the kids tiny fairy homes that we enjoyed hiding in the parks for other kids to find. Summer is the best time of the year to be a Nanny!
