The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure the child is well cared for and making sure the parents are kept in the loop about daily happenings. If I know the parents are working, or are busy while I am the caregiver, I make notes either on my phone, paper, or mentally of times of feedings, changes, and naps and I am sure to communicate with the parents as soon as possible.
