More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have approximately 10 years of professional childcare experience with infants, toddlers, twins, preschoolers, and school-aged children. My background includes full-time nanny care, overnight/night nanny work, infant care beginning at 3 months, school pickups, homework help, routines, outings, and caring for multiple children at once. I’m currently completing a temporary position with a family who relocated from Virginia, primarily caring for their 1-year-old and 3½-year-old while helping the family settle into San Diego. My position ends October 9.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love keeping children active, engaged, and exploring. Some of my favorite activities include trips to the zoo, parks, libraries and storytimes, water play, nature walks, playgrounds, crafts, reading, and age-appropriate outings around the community. I also enjoy creating simple activities at home and finding fun, screen-free ways to keep children learning, moving, and having fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny to me is stepping in as a loving, dependable presence when parents can’t be there. I want each child to feel safe, connected, and genuinely cared for and to know that they are adored for exactly who they are. I try to be very attentive to each child’s personality, developmental stage, emotional state, and individual needs. To me, great childcare is not just meeting physical needs, but building a strong connection through patience, encouragement, affection, and consistent care.

My experience with special needs children...

While I don’t have extensive professional special-needs experience, I do have personal experience supporting a neurodivergent child as a parent. That has given me an appreciation for patience, flexibility, clear communication, and meeting children where they are. I’m always open to learning a child’s individual needs and following the family’s routines and guidance.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny memories was lying in the grass with a little girl I cared for, looking up at the sky and talking about what the clouds looked like. I love those simple moments when kids feel relaxed, curious, and connected. I also love being silly and getting children laughing, especially during the everyday moments they may not be excited about, like getting dressed or transitioning to the next activity.
