A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Nikki Reindorp. I am a part time college student majoring in early childhood education. Children are my favorite people to be around! I consider myself to be a fun and engaging nanny and I always want to make sure the kids are happy, fed, smiling and entertained! I love taking them on outings although with Covid regulations that may have slowed down. Education is important to me so if the child is of school age I will take it upon myself to assist in homework and make sure they are attending classes. I like making snack time fun by letting the kids come up with little creative ways to turn snacks into something imaginative! If Im hired, your children will be my number one priority.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked as a caregiver for about 7 months and have some healthcare knowledge. I also nannied for a single mom of 2 girls age 6 months and age 4, as well as for a family of 2 boys age 9 and age 12. I am grateful for the experiences and cant wait to learn more.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love going to the park or going for walks. I enjoy taking the children to the movies or to the mall. I also believe in volunteer work. Depending on the child's age I may take them to an animal shelter to help feed or walk the puppies. I have noticed the younger kids really enjoy that. Upon parent permission I may even take the child out for ice cream at the end of the day if we had a good day.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Children. Thats simple but to the point. The kids are the number one priority of being a nanny. Even if I have downtime to relax or do some homework or some housekeeping, as soon as a child needs something they become the most important thing in the world.

My experience with special needs children...

The two boys I worked with (age 9 and age 12) were both special needs. One had autism and the other had schizophrenia. Ive noticed when dealing with special kids, kindness and patience are key. You cant be tough with them. Ive also noticed hands on activities and brain teasers really help keep them happy and focused.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I was out at dinner with the 4 year old girl, now age 5, and she called our waiter over and told him he was very handsome. We all had a good laugh about it until she started crying. I asked her why she was crying and she said "because i love him". At this moment the waiter leaned down to her and said "Let me offer you some advice little one. Dont ever admit to a man that he is handsome until he tells you that you're beautiful first." It was a very wholesome moment and she learned a life lesson.
