A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Nikki Crishen, I'm 20 years old and I am from Berkeley, CA. I am attending Sacramento State majoring in Physics with the intent of becoming a teacher for math and/or physics.

I absolutely love working with kids and encouraging them to exercise their creativity and curiosity as much (and as safely!) as possible. My work experience started at 15 years old when I was a tutor for my old middle school. I would assist the kids in understanding that day's lesson and with their homework. Then, at 19, I became a swim teacher and tutor (at the same time). I gave swimming lessons to kids from the age of 8 months to 14 years. I tutored middle school aged children.

In 2015, I became a tutor at my old middle school. I tutored kids aged 11-13. In 2019, I became a swim teacher and tutor. I taught swimming lessons to kids aged 8months to 14 years. I tutored middle to early high school aged kids.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor activities I like to encourage and participate in include painting, listening to music/singing/playing instruments (I have a guitar), watching movies, cooking/baking, making forts, and skill building. Skill building includes everything from critical thinking to learning to clean.

Outdoor activities I like to participate in with kids includes hiking (with proper safety precautions), going to the park, running around, swimming (I used to be a swim teacher), and getting ice cream!
