I do have past experience with a young man who has special needs. However, this was around 20 years ago.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I was working with a child with special needs. He could be difficult to get through to and hard to keep in one spot. I noticed the family had a piano in their home, so one day I went over and started playing on the piano with the child next to me. I saw that he took a liking to the piano. I found a play by numbers learning book and immediately taped numbers on all the keys so that the child would hopefully get more interested. Within a week he memorized the whole book. His mother put him in piano lessons and not too long after that he was playing in recitals. It was absolutely amazing.
