More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have hands-on experience working with children, including being a dedicated babysitter for a family from my younger childhood days to now. During this time, I cared for their children regularly, helping with meals, homework, playtime, and bedtime routines. In addition, I picked up shifts using Clioboard, at local daycare centers, supporting classroom activities and daily care. These experiences have helped me develop patience, responsibility, and a strong passion for working with young children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy engaging children in fun and meaningful activities such as playing I-Spy (my favorite), helping with homework, and getting to know each child through conversation. I believe in creating connections through play and listening, which helps children feel comfortable and supported. Whether we’re learning, laughing, or playing outdoors, I aim to make every moment a positive experience.

The most important part about being a nanny...

To me, the most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, nurturing space where children feel seen and supported. I also value being a big help to parents who work or are in great need—it truly takes a village, and I’m proud to be a part of that support system.

My experience with special needs children...

While I don’t have extensive experience with special needs, I had the opportunity to care for one student with special needs in a daycare setting. I made sure to show her the same patience, love, and attention as I did with all the other children, while also learning how to accommodate her individual needs. This experience helped me grow in understanding, flexibility, and compassion, and I’m open to learning more to better support all children.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments is when I see children I’ve cared for long after I’ve stopped working with their family—and they still remember me with excitement. It means even more when a child feels safe enough to confide in me. Moments like these remind me how important it is to build trust and meaningful connections with the children I care for.

Lorena S. - Seeking Work in Chicago

Babysitter Available in Chicago, IL: Lorena S.

Hi! My name is Lorena. While I may not have formal nanny experience, I’m a mother myself to two children ages 6 and 4, so I truly understand how important it is to have someone trustworthy, patient, and caring watching over your children.

I’ve always been very involved in my children’s education and daily routines, and I take pride in raising them to be respectful, independent, and confident. I’m also bilingual in English and Spanish, and I really enjoy teaching my children both languages because I believe it’s such a valuable skill for them to have as they grow.

I’m also very big on Montessori-style learning and encouraging children to achieve their daily goals in a fun, positive, and independent way. My experience as a caregiver has strengthened my patience, compassion, and love for caring for others, and I would love the opportunity to bring that same energy and support to another family

Hi hi! My name is Emma, and I am relocating to Chicago from the Madison, WI area this summer! I have experience working as a part-time babysitter in high school, as well as experience working at a daycare in Madison during my years of school there. I work in Merchandising, but am passionate about having an outlet to help children develop good habits and have tons of FUN! Some hobbies of mine include doing crafts, photography, going on walks by the water, and spending time with friends, family, and animals! I grew up with dogs, cats, and chickens, so I am happy to work in a space with animals as well. I look forward to getting to know you and your child(ren), and creating memories as their sitter!
