My experience with special needs children...
I’ve only had experience with some kids with special needs through The Boys & Girls club. One particular girl who was autistic really loved people’s hair a bit to much and would pull on it and sometimes hurt other kids but other than that she was a joy!
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was when one of the kids at The Boys and Girls club fell on the cement and scuffed his knee a bit. A couple kids tried to “play doctor” and I instructed them on how to clean the scuff and how to put Neosporin on and a band aid. It was a great teachable moment and the support of the other kids helped the child who scuffed his knee feel supported!
