In high school, I was apart of the Teachings and Learnings Academy and interned for four years at Garin Elementary from grades 1st-5th. In addition to my internship, I also volunteered at John Muir Hospital to help in their Cuddle Program for babies in the Nicu. As well as coaching tumbling classes for ages 18 months to 5 years old for 1 year.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love playing board games, crafts, and outdoor activities such as swimming, riding bikes, going to the park etc. I also like to encourage baking/cooking with the kids I work with because it is a great way to practice fine motor skills, basic math concepts, build language skill as well as allowing kids to be creative.

I believe the most important part about being a nanny is truly loving to work with children and being reliable and trustworthy so the kids and parents know they can count on you.
My experience with special needs children...
In high school, I interned in special needs classrooms for about 6 months. I learned their learning processes and how to help them. During this time we took there were field trips, played games, learned ASL and more.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My most memorable moment as a nanny would have to be when I took the girl I was nannying for to her very first gymnastics tryout. We had practiced in her backyard for weeks leading up to her tryout and when she heard she made the team she came out and gave me a huge hug and thanked me for helping her practice. Seeing her self confidence rise and the joy that she felt in that moment was why it was memorable.
