A little bit about me

Hello,

Thank you for considering me for the nanny position. I have over ten years of experience as a nanny and family assistant and truly adore working with children. I’ve cared for kids of all ages, from two-week-old newborns through high school, and I’m especially attentive to children’s emotions, stories, and individual needs.

I am Live Scan fingerprinted, TrustLine certified, and hold current Basic Life Support training (CPR, AED, and First Aid). I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UC Davis, with additional coursework in child and human development, and I’m always open to further certifications.

I love creating a nurturing, engaging environment through arts and crafts, reading, storytelling, music, movement, yoga, sports, and imaginative play. I aim to provide loving, structured care that supports healthy emotional and developmental growth.

I would love the opportunity to connect and learn more about your family.

Warm regards,
Nora Ismail

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In addition to my nanny experience, I have worked in a variety of child-focused roles, including as a substitute teacher, camp counselor, tutor, mentor, counselor, and Kids’ Club Manager at 24 Hour Fitness. In these positions, I was responsible for supervising children of different ages, managing groups, creating engaging activities, supporting academic and emotional development, and ensuring a safe, structured, and positive environment. These roles strengthened my ability to adapt to different learning styles and personalities, communicate clearly with children and parents, and respond calmly and thoughtfully to children’s needs. They also deepened my understanding of child development, behavior, and the importance of consistency, empathy, and encouragement.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy engaging children in a wide variety of enriching activities that support creativity, confidence, and healthy development. These include painting, sketching, and sewing to encourage fine motor skills and self-expression; playing cards and board games to build focus, patience, and problem-solving skills; and participating in sports and active play to promote coordination, teamwork, and physical well-being. I also love incorporating music, movement, and imaginative play, as well as outdoor activities such as hiking and badminton, to foster curiosity, resilience, and a love of exploration. I believe learning happens best when children feel engaged, supported, and joyful.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is leading with empathy and kindness. Children thrive when they feel seen, heard, and understood, and empathy allows me to respond to their emotions with patience and respect. I believe in leading by example; modeling calm communication, integrity, and compassion so children can learn through everyday interactions. Discipline, to me, is about guidance rather than punishment, using positive reinforcement to encourage good choices, build confidence, and teach self-regulation. By creating a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment, children are able to grow emotionally, socially, and developmentally while feeling secure and supported.

My experience with special needs children...

I also have experience working with children with special needs, including ADD, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, dyslexia, and other psychological and physical challenges. In these roles, I focused on patience, consistency, and individualized support, adapting activities and routines to meet each child’s unique needs and strengths. I am attentive to sensory sensitivities, communication styles, and emotional regulation, and I work closely with families to ensure continuity of care. Helping children feel understood, supported, and confident is deeply important to me, and I genuinely love helping others reach their full potential.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments is when children eagerly gather around me for story time. When they choose to sit close, listen intently, and become excited about books, it reminds me how powerful connection and consistency are. Story time becomes more than just reading; it’s a moment of comfort, imagination, learning, and trust. Those quiet, shared moments help build language skills, emotional security, and a lifelong love of reading, and they are some of the most meaningful parts of my work with children.

Rosie H. - Seeking Work in Santa Clara

Live-In Full-Time Nanny Available in Santa Clara, CA: Rosie H.

Hi! Hi! My name is Rosie, and I’m a recent college graduate currently looking for a full-time summer nanny, travel nanny, or live-in position from late June through September.

I have 3 years of professional childcare experience working in my university’s childcare center, primarily in the infant room, where I’ve cared for babies and toddlers and supported feeding, naps, diapering, developmental play, and daily routines. I’m comfortable managing multiple children, maintaining structure, and creating a warm, engaging environment.

In addition to working in the daycare, I have several years of experience as a lifeguard, and swimming instructor so I’m confident supervising children around water and supporting active summer schedules.

I am developmentally informed, and have completed college level courses in developmental psychology and infancy.

Looking forward to talking further!

Babysitter Available in Santa Clara, CA: Esmeralda M.

I am a College student majoring in Anthropology and I grew up in a big family. Growing up, I always saw women in my family getting together to support each other with the children and the household chores to make sure life never felt too overwhelming. Getting to have that support meant everything to my family and I aspire to be that support for someone else. I have 4 years of experience of paid babysitting and nannying jobs and have worked at a summer camp as a counselor and will be working there again this summer as nanny! I am first aid certified, as well as CPR, and lifeguard certified.
