Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I really enjoy outdoor activities like going to the park, riding bikes or even the simplicity of just going out to blow bubbles. However when weather is not the best activities shouldn't stop there so while indoors I love activities such as arts & crafts, helping to cook/ prepare lunch or dinner. Anything that can grasp a child's attention and keeps them engaged while being hands on. But in all my main goal is to make sure they have fun, enjoy themselves all while ensuring safety!
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is making sure while fun last so do rules, regulations, and safety. All kids love to have fun but having a understanding that there is a time and place for fun and a time and place for homework, lunch/dinner, clean up ect. Having balance, structure and organization helps show children how to, to get to the end goal of where they are wanting to clean up and organize behind themselves, which in all makes the job for Mom and Dad slightly easier.
My experience with special needs children...
My Little Brother William has Autism, He is 15 years old and one of my best friends. He's smart, funny and super generous. Growing up with William allowed me to experience having to become more understanding for the differences in people all around you. I have also volunteered at a coffee shop in Greensboro called " A Special Blend" where all workers inside have any sort of special needs. They are some of the sweetest people you could ever meet.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is while watching a brother and sister accomplish riding thier bikes without training wheels, being able to see the shock and happiness in their face made my heart happy.
