A little bit about me

I am a dedicated college student with hopes of becoming an elementary school teacher. I am seeking work that allows me to attend my classes, maintain my grades, and gain childcare experience. I use a gentle parenting approach, and allow children to make choices once they are old enough to self-advocate. I am willing to consider live-in positions, and would prefer to work approximately 25-30 hours per week to ensure I have time for my coursework. I am usually available on holidays and school breaks as well. I look forward to meeting you and your family!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have light babysitting experience, and tons of informal experience with children while parents were present. For example, I would regularly entertain the 2 and 5 year old children of a family friend while my family spent time with theirs.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to engage with children in a variety of ways, such as coloring with them, playing board games, building legos, reading with them, watching their favorite shows with them, playing with them outside in whatever make-believe scenario they have come up with, and cooking in age-appropriate ways with them. I think it is not the particular activity that is meaningful, but rather the time together.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I think the most important part of being a nanny is helping to raise kids in a way consistent with the values of both the nanny and the parents. This provides stability for the children, and helps prevent role confusion between two different care-giving styles. It also helps the family feel safer entrusting their children to the nanny, and eases the stress on the nanny to know what to do in unpredictable situations. I believe it is imperative to be on the same page with my families in regards to beliefs, values, discipline reasoning and methodology, children's relationship to technology, and more in order to provide the children in my care with a stable and healthy life.

My experience with special needs children...

I have not cared for special needs children, though I would be willing to learn.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment with kids is when a family friend called my dad to tell him that his youngest (3 at the time) had woken up and tried to tell him they were going to my house (not my parents' house, my house) that day because he wanted to see me. He tried to convince his dad to go see me because he had so much fun with me the night before. I just find that to be really heartwarming and sweet and special, and it's stuck with me as a fond memory ever since.

Full-Time Child Care Provider Available in Colorado Springs, CO: RaeLee S.

I am a mother to three wonderful children, ages 17, 11 and 8. I have over 17 years of nanny experience and have worked with children ranging from 6 weeks to 15 years old, including children with significant needs. I also have experience with Montessori teachings and their practical application in everyday care.

I am CPR and First Aid certified and have completed Love and Logic courses. I strongly believe that a structured, nurturing environment is essential for children. I am deeply focused on supporting their physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development while also encouraging independence.

I enjoy planning hands-on activities, exploring the outdoors, going on field trips, and sharing story time together. I truly enjoy being a nanny because I am a highly intuitive person who genuinely loves working with children and finds joy in helping them learn, grow, and thrive.
